About Salt Therapy (Halotherapy)
  1. What is salt therapy (halotherapy)?
Salt therapy, also known as halotherapy, is a natural wellness treatment that mimics the environment of a salt cave. During a session, microscopic salt particles are dispersed into the air, which you inhale deeply into your lungs. This process helps cleanse your respiratory system, reduce inflammation, and improve overall respiratory function. Halotherapy is also beneficial for soothing skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, thanks to the antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of salt.

  2. How does a salt room work?
A salt room uses a specialized device called a halogenerator, which grinds pharmaceutical-grade salt into tiny particles and disperses them into the air. These particles penetrate deep into your respiratory system, reaching the smallest airways in your lungs. Salt particles also settle on your skin, providing soothing and healing effects for a variety of skin conditions. The environment in the room is carefully controlled to ensure maximum relaxation and therapeutic benefits.

  3. What are the benefits of salt therapy?
Salt therapy provides numerous benefits, including:

  4. Respiratory health: It helps clear mucus, reduce inflammation, and improve breathing for conditions like asthma, allergies, sinusitis, bronchitis, and COPD.

  5. Skin health: It soothes irritation and reduces symptoms of eczema, psoriasis, and acne by balancing your skin’s pH and promoting healing.

  6. Stress reduction: The calm, serene environment of the salt room, combined with the natural calming effects of salt, helps reduce stress, anxiety, and fatigue.

  7. Immune system support: Regular sessions can strengthen your immune system by reducing inflammation and improving respiratory function.

  8. Is salt therapy safe?
Yes, salt therapy is a completely natural, non-invasive, and drug-free treatment. It is safe for people of all ages, including children, pregnant women, and seniors. However, individuals with certain medical conditions, such as severe respiratory illnesses like tuberculosis or active infections, should consult their healthcare provider before trying salt therapy.

  9. Who should avoid salt therapy?
While salt therapy is generally safe, it’s not recommended for individuals with:

  10. Severe respiratory conditions, such as tuberculosis.

  11. Active infections or contagious diseases.

  12. Severe cardiac problems.

  13. Open wounds or recent surgeries.
Always consult your doctor if you have any underlying medical conditions before starting salt therapy.

Salt Therapy for Kids
  1. Is salt therapy safe for children?
Absolutely! Salt therapy is a safe and natural way to support children’s health. It can help alleviate respiratory issues like asthma, allergies, and colds while also improving skin conditions such as eczema. The sessions are conducted in a calming, child-friendly environment, making it enjoyable for kids.

  2. What are the benefits of salt therapy for kids?
Salt therapy offers many benefits for children, including:

    • Clearing mucus and improving airflow, which is especially helpful for kids with asthma or chronic respiratory conditions.

    • Reducing inflammation in the airways to ease symptoms of colds, allergies, and sinus infections.

    • Soothing skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis by reducing irritation and promoting healing.

    • Supporting their immune system to prevent frequent illnesses.

  3. What happens during a kids’ salt therapy session?
During a session, children sit or play quietly in the salt room while breathing in the therapeutic salt-infused air. We provide toys and a child-friendly atmosphere to ensure they feel comfortable and relaxed. Parents can join their children to make the experience more enjoyable and stress-free.

  4. How much does salt therapy for kids cost?

    • Ages 5–12: $35 per session (with a parent).

    • Ages 12+: $45 per session.

    • Kids under 5: Free when accompanied by a parent.

  5. Do children need to prepare for a session?
No special preparation is required. Just dress them in comfortable clothes and avoid perfumes or heavily scented lotions. The sessions are designed to be low-stress and enjoyable for children of all ages.

What to Expect During a Session
  1. How long is a salt therapy session?
A typical session lasts 45 minutes. During this time, you’ll relax in a zero-gravity chair, wrapped in a soft blanket, while the halogenerator disperses salt particles into the air. The environment is serene and calming, allowing you to fully relax and reap the benefits of halotherapy.

  2. What should I wear to a salt therapy session?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to your session. Avoid wearing perfumes, colognes, or heavily scented lotions, as these can affect the salt room’s air quality. We provide optional robes and socks for additional comfort, and the salt will not damage your clothing.

  3. What is the etiquette for a salt room?
To maintain the relaxing and sterile environment of the salt room:

    • Use a quiet, indoor voice.

    • Avoid playing with or disturbing the salt.

    • Do not bring electronic devices, as they can disrupt the peaceful atmosphere.

    • Guardians must accompany children under 12 years of age.

  4. Should I shower before or after a session?
We recommend showering before your session to remove any lotions, oils, or perfumes. Avoid showering immediately after your session to allow the therapeutic salt to remain on your skin and continue its healing effects.

Post-Session Experience
  1. How will I feel after a salt therapy session?
Many clients feel a sense of lightness, relaxation, and improved breathing after a session. You may experience sinus drainage or clearer airways as the salt works to cleanse your respiratory system. Many people also report deeper, more restful sleep after halotherapy.

  2. How often should I do salt therapy?
The frequency depends on your health goals. For general relaxation and wellness, 1–2 sessions per week are sufficient. For chronic respiratory or skin conditions, 2–3 sessions per week may be recommended for optimal results.

Other Treatments
  1. What is the benefit of combining salt therapy with massage therapy?
Combining salt therapy with massage therapy can enhance relaxation and overall wellness. While salt therapy detoxifies and soothes the respiratory system, massage therapy releases muscle tension and promotes circulation, making it the perfect duo for a complete healing experience.

  2. What is an infrared sauna, and how does it work?
An infrared sauna uses infrared heaters to emit radiant heat, which is absorbed directly by your body. This promotes detoxification, improves circulation, and provides pain relief without the intense heat of traditional saunas.
